Exhibitions
&
Workshops
I wanna be out there more and I am planning several exhibitions for this year, starting with a shared exhibition with my dear friend Trish Haggerty at Nicolls Gallery in Glasgow from 1.-5. May.
This exhibition will be followed by others in Port Wemyss on the occasion of the Lighthouse Festival, in The Gather, a lovely artisan café in Tarbert, during the Islay Book Festival and in September the
Islay Jazz Festival in Bowmore. Two events which are more than worth visiting!
If this sounds interesting, watch this space for the dates.
JAZZ ON ISLAY
Exhibition at the ICCI in Bowmore
24 August - 4 October
It is that (and perhaps my favourite) time of the year! World class musicians visit, bring the jazz and perform on our island. It feels a privilege to having the opportunity to welcome them with an exhibition of watercolour paintings inspired by their music and also by local subjects.
The majority of the paintings in this exhibition will be of the FERGUS McCREADIE TRIO and of the ISLAY WOOLLEN MILL.
LINESCAPES AND LANDSCAPES
Exhibition at THE GATHER in Tarbert
9 July - 23 July
Another exhibition with my inspiring friend Trish Haggerty. This time in a beautiful Café / Gallery right in the centre of Glasgow's Westend.
I will also off quick INTRO INTO WATERCOLOUR sessions for those who would like to get started with this special medium.
THE STUDIES
Exhibition at THE GATHER in Tarbert
7 July - 31 August
Some of my paintings I am most fond of are those quick studies, which I either paint plein air or in my studio, to warm up with a subject, or to play with the composition and the colour palette.
These kind of rather small pictures will make the majority of the works exhibited.
WILD ISLAY
Exhibition at NICOLL's GALLERY
in Glasgow
1 - 5 May 2025
Trish and I have exhibited in this lovely gallery before and now both of us are looking forward to our first shared exhibition.
Our styles and approach to painting are quite different, which should make an interesting contrast.
Be invited to also come along for the late opening on 2 May, to have a wee snack, some craic and drink!

JAZZ ON ISLAY
Exhibition at the Gaelic Centre, Islay
26. August - 4. October 2024
It will be an honour to exhibit some landscape and jazz paintings during two cultural highlights in the islands calendar, the Islay Book Festival and the Islay Lagavulin Jazz Festival.
Beside some finished jazz paintings, I will also show studies and sketches, that are part of the process of creating a picture.
In May 2024 I will be exhibiting at the
Nicolls Gallery, Glasgow
This will be my first exhibition in Glasgow and I am really looking forward to it!

THE JAZZ IS BACK!
12. September - 26. October
Many jazz enthusiasts are looking forward to the Islay Jazz Festival, which will be on from 15. to 17. September. Like last year this is the reason to display a range of themed paintings to decorate the venue appropriately.
ISLAY IMPRESSIONS
14. August - 11. September
My exhibition "Islay Impressions" in the ICCI in Bowmore will feature many new watercolour paintings of subjects of this beautiful island.
I am especially happy that visitors of the Islay Book Festival will be able to see the exhibition.

JAZZ & BLUES ON ISLAY!
8. September - 9. October 2022
This year the Islay Jazz Festival delayed into October. Jane Taylor and I team up for an exhibition of paintings inspired by Jazz and Blues at the ICCI in Bowmore.
ACRYLIC AND WATERCOLOUR
8. May - 12. June 2022
Acrylic and watercolour paintings will make an
interesting contrast in the display at the Ionad Chaluim Chile Ìle / the Gaelic Centre in Bowmore/Islay. Acrylic paintings on canvas and watercolour on paper.

THREE LOCAL ARTISTS
will exhibit paintings inspired by jazz and music in general from 6.- 25. September 2021

MORE WATERCOLOURS
28. June - 30. July 2021
Landscapes and seacapes in watercolour will follow the exhibition of portraits of local faces.
STRONG LOCAL FACES
24. May - 26. June 2021
This will be an exhibition of a series of portraits I painted of strong local faces duringh last last one and a half years. It was my personal
THANK YOU to this community, which welcomed me very warmly.
