Using some gouache allowed me to create effects I was after, which I couldn’t have achieved with a plain watercolour painting, like in the sister painting Gust at Saligo Bay.
The painting is inspired by these hefty winds, which leave you with sand and salt in your face when daring to walk on the beach.
